birds chirp
faintly muted

Long stretch
quiet rustle
sharp mind
tired muscle
long wink
short nap
7am

Duty calls
no reply
house rules
won't cry
didn't sleep
don't know why
8am

Deep sigh
long night
lacking sleep
no fight
drained dry
some misgivings
